Summary: Robin Smallburrow tries to come to terms with what he saw and did during the occupation of the Shire. (Please note, rated "adult" for dark themes and disturbing imagery. War is never pretty.)

Summary: Of the Fellowship, one did not survive the War of the Ring and another had no parents in Middle-earth. But what about the remaining seven? This drabble focuses on the thoughts of the fathers (or foster-fathers) of Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin, on seeing them for the first time after the Quest.

Summary: A short essay investigating the character of Gollum. Was he really completely evil, or did he have a seed of goodness buried deep inside?

Summary: "Then Mardil could no longer restrain [E?rnur], and he rode with a small escort of knights to the gate of Minas Morgul." But why would any competent steward let a childless king confront such a dangerous enemy, and with such a small escort?
Perhaps just a little AU -- this doesn't (to my knowledge) contradict anything Tolkien wrote, but some people might find my Mardil a bit more jaded than the one they imagined.

Summary: Sm?agol's old beau sees him several years after he is expelled from his family hole and thinks back to their relationship before he found the Ring. No objectionable material (aside from the possibly icky image of Gollum in love).
Special thanks to Tanaqui and annmarwalk for their beta help.

Summary: The road to the hallows above Minas tirith is travelled only once a generation, on the twentieth birthday of the current steward's oldest son. Denethor leads Boromir down that scarce-walked path, and finally gives his son an honest answer to a question he asked as a child. No objectionable material.
